Optimized for Rack-Mount Test Systems
Unlike traditional benchtop oscilloscopes, the UPO7104L is purpose-built for rack integration and automated testing. Its compact half-width 1U design allows two instruments to occupy a single rack space, significantly increasing measurement density while reducing equipment footprint. Browser-based WebServer control, HDMI display output, and full SCPI command support allow engineers to configure, monitor, and automate measurements without direct access to the instrument, making it well suited for production lines, environmental chambers, and centralized test systems.
High-Speed Acquisition Performance
The UPO7104L combines a 1 GHz analog bandwidth with up to 10 GSa/s real-time sampling and acquisition memory of up to 1 Gpts, enabling long-duration captures without sacrificing sample resolution. UNI-T's UltraAcq® acquisition technology captures up to 600,000 waveforms per second during standard operation and up to 2,000,000 waveforms per second in Sequence Mode, helping engineers detect intermittent faults, timing violations, and rare signal anomalies that slower acquisition systems may overlook.
Integrated Analysis Tools
The UPO7104L consolidates multiple laboratory instruments into a single platform to simplify test setups and reduce equipment costs. Standard functionality includes an enhanced FFT spectrum analyzer, digital voltmeter, hardware frequency counter, and serial protocol decoding for UART, RS-232/422/485, I²C, SPI, CAN, and LIN. Optional software packages expand the instrument with a 60 MHz arbitrary waveform generator, advanced power analysis, jitter analysis, eye diagrams, and additional protocol support for automotive, audio, and aerospace applications.
Scalable Multi-Instrument Synchronization
For applications requiring synchronized measurements across large channel counts, the UPO7104L supports multi-instrument synchronization of up to 128 oscilloscopes, providing as many as 512 synchronized analog channels with low inter-instrument trigger jitter. This architecture makes the UPO7104L well suited for semiconductor testing, aerospace systems, communications equipment, battery testing, and other high-channel-count validation environments where conventional benchtop oscilloscopes cannot efficiently scale.
Automation and Remote Operation
Built on a Windows 10 IoT platform with embedded MATLAB and Python support, the UPO7104L integrates easily into automated test environments. Dual Gigabit LAN ports, USB connectivity, browser-based remote operation, and comprehensive SCPI programming simplify instrument control, waveform acquisition, report generation, and custom analysis. Engineers can remotely manage measurements, capture screenshots, export waveform data, and execute automated test sequences from virtually any network-connected workstation.
Applications
The UNI-T UPO7104L is ideal for automated test equipment (ATE), production testing, semiconductor validation, aerospace and defense electronics, communications systems, industrial automation, university research laboratories, and multi-channel engineering test environments. Its combination of rack-mount efficiency, high-speed acquisition, advanced analysis software, and scalable synchronization makes it a powerful solution for organizations requiring reliable, high-performance measurements in space-constrained installations.

Should I size up to the UPO7204L instead?
If your fastest signal edges are below ~700 MHz and you don’t need the additional 1 GHz of single-channel-mode analog bandwidth, the UPO7104L has the same 10 GSa/s peak sample rate, the same 1 Gpts memory at single-channel mode, the same UltraAcq® acquisition engine, the same multi-machine sync architecture, and the same 11-protocol decode set as the UPO7204L — the 1 GHz vs 2 GHz analog bandwidth ceiling is the only meaningful difference on the spec sheet. The UPO7204L is worth the step-up when you’re working at the rise-time edge of 2 GHz analog signal-integrity, characterizing high-speed serial-link compliance (USB 3.0, PCIe Gen 1/2 region, MIPI), running jitter analysis on data rates above ~1 Gbps, or running ATE racks where headroom matters for measurement accuracy on customer designs.
What's the difference between standard capture rate and Sequence mode?
Standard capture rate (≥600,000 wfms/s via UltraAcq®) is the UPO7104L’s continuous real-time waveform acquisition rate. Sequence mode (2,000,000 wfms/s) uses segmented memory to capture multiple trigger-conditioned frames for post-capture replay — for rare-event hunting where the trigger is well-defined.
