UTS3015T+ 1.5 GHz Spectrum Analyzer with Tracking Generator
The UTS3015T+ and UTS3032T+ bring 1.5 GHz and 3.2 GHz spectrum analysis, a built-in tracking generator, and reflection measurement into a single bench instrument under two thousand dollars.
For a small hardware team or a contract test bench, that means one box covers signal search, scalar network checks, and pre-compliance screening without three separate purchases.
Both models hold a typical displayed average noise level to −161 dBm (preamp on, a shared series figure), phase noise below −98 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset, and full-amplitude accuracy under 0.7 dB — numbers that hold up under real measurement conditions, not peak-only figures. A 10.1-inch 1280×800 capacitive touch screen and full SCPI control over USB and LAN make the instrument scriptable from day one.
Tracking generator is built in on every T+ model — it is the defining difference of the T+ line and is standard, not an added option. Analog demodulation, the advanced measurement kit, and EMI pre-compliance remain field-installable options when a project needs them.
Choosing Your Model: UTS3000T+ Performance-Series
The UTS3000T+ name spans two materially different instrument classes. The four models below do not share the same sweep engine, trace count or demodulation capability — the differences go well beyond frequency reach. Compare the full series before selecting:

Within the UTS3015T+/UTS3032T+ class, choose by frequency reach (1.5 GHz vs 3.2 GHz). Within the UTS3036T+/UTS3084T+ class, choose 3.6 GHz or 8.4 GHz reach. Across classes the UTS3036T+/UTS3084T+ models add a 40,001-point sweep (4× the depth), six traces instead of four, and PM demodulation in addition to AM/FM — confirm which class a model belongs to before assuming a shared specification.

UNI-T UTS3000T+ Performance-Series Details
Frequency Reach to 8.4 GHz
The UTS3036T+ sweeps 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz; the UTS3084T+ to 8.4 GHz. The higher ceiling captures the third and higher harmonics of sub-3 GHz carriers and wideband spurious content that a 3 GHz-class analyzer cannot reach.
40,001-Point Sweep
Each trace carries 40,001 points — four times the entry pair — so a wide span still resolves narrow signals without sacrificing the span to keep frequency resolution. This is the practical difference when searching a multi-GHz window for a single spur.
Six Traces and Detector Modes
Six independent traces with Sample, Peak, Negative, Normal and Average detectors allow live, max-hold, reference and limit traces on screen at once — useful when comparing a measured spectrum against a stored mask.
Sensitivity and Phase Noise
Typical displayed average noise level reaches −165 dBm with the preamp on (10–200 MHz band) — a shared series figure for both models. Phase noise is −98 dBc/Hz typical at 10 kHz and reaches −110 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset on the UTS3084T+, relevant when measuring a clean source close to the carrier.
Reflection Measurement
With the optional VSWR bridge and the built-in tracking source, the analyzer measures S11 return loss, reflection coefficient and VSWR after an Open calibration — antenna and cable verification on the same instrument.
EMI Pre-Compliance Screening (Option)
With the optional UTS3000-EMI kit the analyzer operates as a CISPR-aware screening receiver: −6 dB resolution bandwidths of 200 Hz, 9 kHz, 120 kHz and 1 MHz; Peak, Negative-Peak, Quasi-Peak, EMI-Average and Average detectors; up to three concurrent meter traces; and editable limit-line sets for FCC, EN, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, VCCI and custom standards. A Scan / Search / Measure sequence with output report supports near-field-probe emissions screening before committing to chamber time.
Analog Demodulation Analysis (Option)
The optional UTS3000-AMA kit adds AM, FM and PM demodulation. Modulation rate covers 20 Hz to 100 kHz; AM depth 5–95%; FM offset 1 kHz to 400 kHz; PM phase deviation 0.2 to 6.28 rad. The result window reports modulation depth, carrier power, modulation frequency, SINAD and THD — enough to verify a transmitter's modulation quality from the same bench.
Advanced One-Key Measurements (Option)
The optional UTS3000-AMK kit adds channel power, power spectral density, adjacent-channel power, occupied bandwidth, transmit frequency error, zero-span (time-domain) power, carrier-to-noise ratio, third-order intercept and harmonic measurement to the 10th order, plus a spectrogram monitor — the transmitter-test set used in design verification.
Applications
RF and Wireless Design Engineering
Above 3 GHz the work is harmonic and spurious search, wideband signal characterization, and source verification. The 8.4 GHz reach of the UTS3084T+ captures the higher harmonics of a sub-3 GHz design; the 40,001-point sweep keeps narrow signals resolved across a multi-GHz span; and the close-in phase-noise figures support oscillator and synthesizer characterization. The tracking generator is built in on every UTS3036T+ / UTS3084T+ model. Field-installable options: UTS3000-AMA Analog Demodulation, UTS3000-AMK Advanced Measurement Kit, UTS3000-EMI EMI Pre-Compliance. The tracking generator is standard — it is not an added option on the T+ line.
Does the tracking generator cost extra on the T+?
No. The tracking generator is built in and standard on every UTS3000T+ model, including the UTS3015T+ and UTS3032T+. It is the defining feature of the T+ line.
What is the difference between the UTS3015T+ and the UTS3032T+?
Frequency reach and sensitivity. The UTS3015T+ covers 9 kHz to 1.5 GHz; the UTS3032T+ covers 9 kHz to 3.2 GHz. Both models share the same typical noise floor at their top frequencies, plus the same 10,001-point sweep engine, four traces, RBW range, touch interface and built-in tracking generator. Can it do EMI pre-compliance?
With the optional UTS3000-EMI kit, yes. It adds CISPR-bandwidth RBWs (200 Hz, 9 kHz, 120 kHz, 1 MHz), quasi-peak and EMI-average detectors and editable limit lines for screening with a near-field probe set before a formal compliance run.
How is it controlled remotely?
Full SCPI over USB or LAN (VXI11). It integrates with Python, LabVIEW and MATLAB through standard VISA.
